THRU Advisory Council

The THRU Advisory Council at THRU Project is a leadership program designed to ensure that young people with lived experience in foster care have a direct voice in shaping the programs, services, and policies that affect their lives.
This board is made up of youth and young adults who bring firsthand insight into the foster care system and the transition into adulthood. Their perspective helps guide organizational decisions and strengthen support for future participants.
What the THRU Advisory Council Does
Members of the THRU Advisory Board actively participate in:
- Providing feedback on THRU Project programs and services
- Sharing lived experience to improve youth-centered support systems
- Advising staff and leadership on program development
- Advocating for policy changes that impact foster youth in Texas
- Participating in community outreach and awareness efforts
The goal is simple: nothing about youth services should be decided without youth input.
Who Can Join?
The THRU Advisory Council is open to:

- Individuals who are passionate about advocacy and leadership
